Kandy  

Ancient and Capital city of the Hill country 

Kandy is an administrative and areligious city and called as the capital of the hill country. Second largest city and the last kingdom of Sri Lanka. Surrounded by mountains, Mahaweli River flows around Kandy city. Sri Lanka fully fell into the British power after the Kandyan aristocrats signed Kandyan Convention in 1815 with British.

As Kaandy is located in a high elevation, it is relatively wetter and cooler than the other areas. Mountain rangers like Knuckles, Hantana , waterfalls, rivers and water Strems, lakes, Tea plantations  forest and woods add to Kandy’s beauty.
