Sri Lanka is an Island Nation situated 50 Km's off the Southern tip of India, separated by the Palk starit. Ancient chronicals records that sri Lanka was called as" Thambapanni"by the Aryan Prince Vijaya (The first recorded King of Sri Lanka). Later Greek - Roman mariners called it "Taprobane" then Taprobana by Ptolemy, also called as 'Serendib", ' Rathnadeepa", "Zeilan", and "Ceylon" before it was renamed as Sri Lanka in 1971.

In a 65610 square kilometer land you will find ruinsand monuments of a civilization ancient and advanced, many eco systems varies from tropical rain forests, subalpine evergreen, scrub jungles, wilderness and wild life, fauna and flora, mountains and peaks, eater streams, waterfalls ,lakes and rivers surrounded with the pristine blue ocean and beaches.

 

Sri Lanka's population is twenty One million, a multi cultural and multi religious  country, Sinhalese, Tamils ( Indian and Indigenous) Moors, Malays, Burghers and others. Buddhism, Hinduism, Christianity and Islam are major religions that the Sri Lankan people practice. Being  multicultural country through out the year there are functions and festival around the land. People speak Sinhala, Tamil and English languages
